At 17 months, Owen:
* Drinks whole milk, sometimes with reckless abandon, sometimes just a few sips
* Still relies on his favorites: Cheerios, granola bars, cereal bars, applesauce, any kind of fruit
* Still hates meat, cheese, bread, and pasta
* Still eats purees (must break of him of this, but how?!)
* Sleeps from 8pm-8am
* Takes one nap a day, anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 hours
* Can walk fast, but hasn't broken into a run yet
* Is obsessed with shoes, and knows to climb up on the chaise when it's time to put shoes on
* Loves bathtime
* Loves balls
* Loves stacking blocks
* Can make a 7-block tower
* Loves playing with his ride-on toys
* Loves books
* Loves to pretend to talk on the phone
* Loves playing with the remote control
* Hates getting his diaper change
* Hates being picked up if he's in the middle of doing something
* Will grab onto my legs and bury his head if he's shy
* Knows that it's time to eat right after Blue's Clues in the morning, so he'll ask for Cheerios
* Loves to point at and identify things
* Will point to something he knows he's not supposed to touch and say "no"
* Will run away with an object that he knows he's not supposed to have in order to keep you from getting it
* Will use "no" appropriately if you ask him a question
* Is starting to use two words together - milk please (signs this as well), Cheerios please, please go
* Learned the following words this month - go, no, car, boat, choo choo (train), good, sit, what's that, look at that (I'm sure he thinks the last two are just one word)
* Can make the following animal sounds - dog, cat, pig, cow, lamb, duck, elephant, lion, tiger, bear, dinosaur, snake
* Can point to his eyes, ears, and hair
* Wears mostly 12-18 and 18 month clothing, though he can still fit into a pair of 6-12 month jeans
* Wears a size 4 diaper
* Wears a size 6 shoe with room to grow
